    Job Title: Saw Operator

    Job Description

    This position is for a structural steel Saw Operator in a metal fabrication environment. Candidates will be given a blueprint or drawing and be required to cut structural steel and different shapes such as angle iron, c-channels, I-beams, and other shapes to produce the necessary parts for their assembly. The role involves operating vertical and horizontal bandsaws.

    Responsibilities

    + Utilize various metal cutting saws such as vertical and horizontal bandsaws.

    + Understand, read, and interpret structural blueprints.

    + Comprehend terms such as angle iron, c-channel, and I-beams.

    + Determine the size and shape of stock required, using tape measurements and other instruments to meet specifications.

    + Exhibit a teamwork attitude and be willing to help in multiple areas if needed.

    Essential Skills

    + 3 years of experience working with metal saw operating, using a bandsaw and overhead saw.

    + Ability to interpret and read blueprints.

    + Understanding of structural steel terminology.

    + Proficiency in using steel, band saw, circular saw, tape measure, saw operating, structural steel, blueprint reading, fabrication, grinder, torch, micrometer, and caliper.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Downers Grove, IL.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
