Job Title: Maintenance Automation and Project Technician

Job Description

Join a dynamic team at a leading door manufacturing company as a Maintenance Automation and Project Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for performing general equipment maintenance, including mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs, while maintaining and enhancing automated systems and equipment. You will work closely with the site engineering team to design, develop, and implement systems and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

+ Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs on various equipment.

+ Maintain and enhance automated systems, including installations, upgrades, and repairs.

+ Collaborate with the site engineering team to improve efficiency and site productivity.

+ Repair CNC and production equipment such as turret punch press machines, press brakes, and more.

+ Conduct hydraulic and pneumatic system repairs.

+ Troubleshoot and repair drives, motors, belts, and replace filters.

+ Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, and gears for conveying systems.

+ Read electrical diagrams to troubleshoot and find issues with equipment.

+ Assemble, install, and repair electrical components on machines.

+ Perform facility maintenance as needed.

+ Collaborate with different departments and the maintenance manager to build, design, and source parts.

+ Mentor current maintenance staff and write procedures to enhance system maintenance.

+ Assist with planning and scheduling preventative maintenance within a CMMS system.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 5 years of maintenance/automation experience.

+ 5+ years of electrical troubleshooting experience.

+ Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams.

+ Experience in mechanical maintenance.

+ Experience planning PMs using a CMMS system.

+ Experience working with vendors.

+ Experience repairing and troubleshooting machine controls (PLC, Sensors, IOs, software).

+ Ability to read and understand machine blueprints and electrical schematics.

+ Automation maintenance experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bilingual skills.

+ Experience with process improvements.

+ Job history with no less than 2 years at each company.

Work Environment

Work alongside a team of five maintenance mechanics in an open-aired, non-AC manufacturing setting. The position offers a 1st shift schedule from 7am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with the opportunity to work 1-2 Saturdays a month or more if desired.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77040.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $40.00/hr.
