    Production Worker in Nashville, TN

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team in a fast-paced fabrication shop where your hands-on skills help build the backbone of major mechanical systems. This role involves operating machinery and working with machines that shape sheet metal, as well as measuring and cutting materials as needed. We’re looking for a reliable, safety-conscious general laborer to assist in daily shop operations and support the fabrication of mechanical components used in large-scale construction projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist fabricators and welders with the preparation and assembly of mechanical components.

    + Utilize sheet metal welding experience in daily tasks.

    + Operate basic hand and power tools to support cutting, grinding, and material handling.

    + Load and unload materials, stage parts for production, and organize inventory.

    + Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.

    + Support the movement and positioning of heavy components using forklifts, hoists, or cranes (training provided if needed).

    + Perform general maintenance and cleanup duties as assigned by shop supervisors.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience working in an industrial or construction environment.

    + Proficiency in machine operation, packaging, and use of a tape measure.

    + Ability to work with general production hand and power tools, welding, sheet metal, and heavy machinery.

    + Experience in fabrication is highly valued.

    + Must have a valid driver's license.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience working in a fabrication shop is a significant advantage.

    + Construction experience is preferred but not required.

    + High school diploma or GED is preferred.

    + Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.

    + Willingness to learn and adhere to safety protocols.

    + Strong work ethic, punctuality, and teamwork mentality.

    Work Environment

     

    The work takes place in a fabrication shop, specifically within the sheet metal department, in the forming area. The position operates from 7 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with a lunch break at 12:30. Steel-toed shoes are required for safety. The shop is located in Nashville, approximately 2 miles south of downtown. The interview process is informal, aimed at getting to know potential candidates.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
