The Senior Data Scientist will focus on loan pricing and plays a critical role in shaping pricing strategies that drive growth, profitability, and credit quality. This position leads analytical initiatives that influence Net Interest Income (NII), loan volume, and customer segmentation, while partnering closely with Finance, Risk, Product, and Marketing teams. Combining technical expertise with strategic insight, the role focuses on building scalable pricing analytics, developing predictive models, and delivering actionable insights to guide pricing decisions, product design, and marketing strategies.
Areas of Responsibility:
Pricing Analytics & Reporting
+ Build and maintain reporting and dashboards that track pricing performance and its impact to Net Interest Income, loan profitability, and volume.
+ Partner with Finance, Product, and Risk to ensure alignment between pricing, credit quality, funding costs, and volume targets.
+ Support weekly and monthly pricing reviews by providing analysis of trends, channel performance, and competitive positioning.
+ Build and automate recurring pricing analytics in SQL and Python to ensure accuracy, scalability, and consistency.
Pricing Optimization and Strategy Development
+ Design and execute experiments and analyses to optimize pricing structure across customer segments, product structures, loan terms, and credit tiers.
+ Develop predictive models that describe and quantify the impact of pricing adjustments and promotional pricing strategies on applicant conversion, portfolio yield, and credit quality across product segments.
+ Develop predictive models or frameworks that recommend optimal pricing and elasticity assumptions across key segments.
+ Collaborate with Product and Marketing to ensure pricing supports business goals for growth and customer lifetime economic value.
+ Continuously benchmark pricing strategy against market trends and competitor movements to identify improvement opportunities.
Customer Insights, Data Analysis, & Segmentation
+ Analyze customer behavior, credit performance, and lifecycle data to uncover pricing and product optimization opportunities.
+ Identify underserved or high-potential segments and develop data-driven recommendations to improve competitiveness and margin.
+ Partner with cross-functional teams (Risk, Finance, Marketing, Product) to translate analytical insights into business intelligence and strategic initiatives.
+ Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences through dashboards, memos, and presentations.
Forecast Modeling
+ Build models that project key metrics to inform business decisions and simulate economic and financial outcomes.
+ Apply advanced statistical, econometric, or machine learning techniques to stress-test pricing strategies.
+ Deliver scenario-based insights to inform strategic pricing decisions, margin planning, and growth projections.
+ Ensure model transparency and documentation to maintain consistency, accuracy, and regulatory alignment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor’s Degree- Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics or related fields of study
+ 5+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or quantitative modeling, preferably within financial services, student and consumer lending, or fintech.
+ Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
+ Experience working with large datasets, building dashboards, and automating analytical workflows.
+ Solid understanding of financial metrics such as Net Interest Income, yield, and credit risk-adjusted return.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
+ Experience with pricing analytics, yield optimization, or profitability modeling strongly preferred.
+ Ph D or Masters degree-Machine Learning
