Job Title: Building Engineer

Job Description

This position supports the Assistant and/or Chief Engineer and Sr. Facilities Manager in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. The Engineer will perform routine operations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems to ensure the effective operation of the facility. This role ensures that equipment is maintained in an energy-efficient and safe manner, minimizing downtime through anticipation of necessary repairs and maintaining records of past operating experiences.

Responsibilities

+ Support Assistant/Chief Engineer and Sr. Facilities Manager in daily maintenance and repair tasks.

+ Conduct routine operations, inspections, maintenance, and repairs on HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

+ Ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely, reducing downtime through proactive maintenance.

+ Perform inspections and repairs on building interiors and exteriors, including walls, flooring, fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and troubleshooting.

+ 5+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance/engineering.

+ Experience with face-to-face/client-facing interactions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Comprehensive understanding of building maintenance and engineering practices.

Work Environment

The role involves working on-site at various properties, with a schedule of 10am-7:30pm and 2 Saturdays a month. Saturday shifts may vary based on vendor schedules. The work environment is dynamic, providing opportunities to engage with different systems and technologies.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $33.00/hr.
