    Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare (CM), Division of MAC Systems Security and Operations (DMSSOO). As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist (Security), GS-2210-15, you will you will provide executive leadership in the oversight, monitoring and technical direction related to system security and system operations. Responsibilities Plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Review work performance of subordinates. Provide expert leadership in the oversight, monitoring and technical direction related to system security and system operations. Direct the activities related to the performance of assigned contractors and contractor data centers in systems areas. Analyze trends and patterns identifying underlying causes of performance and contract issues related to systems security and operations. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications ALL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET BY THE CLOSING DATE OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. In order to qualify for the GS-15, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Overseeing and evaluating a third-party contractor managing health care data, ensuring compliance with IT and system security standards; AND Providing technical assistance to peers and subordinates serving as a liaise with the third-party contractor, on system implementation and systems security issues; AND Leading teams or directing projects related to system security and operations, either internally or through oversight of the contractor handling sensitive health data such as Protected Health Information (PHI)/ Personally Identifiable Information (PII). In addition to the qualifications listed above, you must have IT-related Basic Requirement experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem-Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
