Responsibilities If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for the safety and security of all employees, manages the physical security needs of all facilities, which include oversight of the District's Special Security Officers and the security identification and access system. Additionally, they ensure the security of office personnel and the safety of classified information. Typical work assignments will include: Develops and implements security policies and procedures to for the protection of personnel, physical, property, information, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and classified communications. Conduct information security inspections for compliance with requirements. Respond to and conduct threat analyses. Provide guidance to officials during information security investigations. Verify background investigation/clearance levels of personnel. Prepare and implement physical security surveys and inspections. Administer all badge/access and visit certifications for physical security of a building and visitor approval. Prepare emergency plans for the protection of personnel, property and facilities. Conduct periodic security awareness training and provide instructional material to personnel who have access to classified material. Manages the installation's security and emergency services programs to include but not limited to physical security; installation emergency management; contract services. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications To be found qualified for the GS-12 grade level: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing at least 2 out of 4 of the following: Developing or conducting training of information, personnel security and facility security; Conducting security inspections to ensure implementation and compliance with requirements of the information security program; Managing emergency management program; Conducts all stages of investigations pertaining to threat assessments and incident reports in compliance with directives. AND If you are Federal employee, you must meet time in grade: TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. You must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted; recommended SF-50s include promotions and step increases (within grade increases). All applicants will be reviewed to ensure they meet minimum qualification and eligibility requirements before carrying out the rating and ranking process. Applicants will not be further considered who will not meet within 30 days after the closing date of the vacancy announcement all qualification and eligibility requirements. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
