Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and experienced Payroll Manager to oversee the day-to-day US payroll and HR operations functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing and approving bi-weekly payrolls and serving as the escalation point for all internal and external payroll matters. The role involves working with HR teams across various US locations and managing company and employee-level data within the US Payroll system in partnership with HRIS.
Responsibilities
+ Oversee the day-to-day US payroll and HR operations functions.
+ Audit and approve bi-weekly payrolls, acting as an escalation point for payroll matters.
+ Collaborate with HR teams at various US locations.
+ Manage US Payroll system’s company and employee-level data, including auditing employee data.
+ Prepare and distribute timely Worker's Compensation, CA Pay Data, and multi-worksite reporting.
+ Manage the Employee Resource Center and serve as escalation point for payroll, time, and attendance matters.
+ Implement process improvements to enhance employee experience and ensure regulatory compliance.
+ Maintain relationships with payroll vendors and the 401k plan provider.
+ Partner with the Benefits team on payroll/operations matters and liaise with benefit vendors as needed.
+ Serve as the main contact for internal and external payroll audits.
+ Research and resolve jurisdictional communications for payroll tax matters with the payroll vendor.
+ Review quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and apply to new tax jurisdictions when necessary.
+ Collaborate with the Total Rewards Team for annual increases, bonuses, and international employee transfers.
+ Manage payroll-centric year-end and year-begin processes.
+ Coordinate data collection and responses to ad hoc requests from various internal teams.
+ Execute compliance reporting such as W-2, 1095-c, EEO-1, AAP, and VETS.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in payroll systems such as UKG, Ultipro, and UKG Ultipro.
+ Experience with biweekly multi-state payroll processing for 2500+ employees.
+ Experience running payroll for sales, hourly, salary, and shift differentials.
+ Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
+ Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, or a related area.
+ Knowledge of accounting principles, payroll tax laws and compliance, and labor laws.
+ Understanding of health and welfare and 401(k) plan design and administration.
+ Experience with payroll, benefits, and time and attendance system implementations.
+ Experience with a shared services model for payroll, benefits, and HR operations.
+ Administrator-level experience with payroll software, time and attendance systems, and HRIS systems.
+ Intermediate report building skills for UKG’s Business Intelligence.
+ Project management and supervision experience.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
+ Professionalism and strong customer service skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with UKG UltiPro
+ 5+ years of multi-state payroll
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position with a schedule of Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Fridays offer flexible work arrangements. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58.00 - $62.00/hr.
