    Managed by Legends Global, Desert Diamond Arena is the premier live entertainment venue of the Southwest, hosting world-class concerts, sporting events, and private experiences in the heart of the Westgate Entertainment District. Following a recent $42 million transformation, the arena continues to set the standard for innovation, premium hospitality, and guest experience.

    THE ROLE

    The Building Engineer at Desert Diamond Arena will assist in all engineering calls on a day to day basis and during events, sports, entertainment and concert productions. Participates in a preventative maintenance program and plan of action to resolve problems if they arise. Will monitor and personally perform work orders as needed to ensure timely completion and quality. Partner with the Event Services department on show related requests; continuously monitors building needs and is responsible for the day-to-day repair and maintenance of the facility.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    • Repair and maintain all aspects of general building maintenance, to include Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC and drywall/painting.

    • Participate in daily rounds of Chiller Plant and Boiler room. Also to include, weekly testing of backup generator and fire pump.

    • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor to maintain the integrity and safety of the facility.

    • Perform scheduled maintenance and daily maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, lighting, and other building systems.

    • Train within the engineering department to maintain a basic to mid-level competency of all job functions and skills of the department.

    • Basic computer skills needed for e-mails and work order system.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Assist with contractors as needed.

    Qualifications

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

    • Ability to work flexible hours based on events, including daytime, evening, weekends and holidays, as needed.

    • Self motivation.

    • Quality workmanship.

    • Must be able to use ladders, lifts, fork lifts, up to 25’.

    • Reliability and dependability are paramount.

     

    Education and/or Experience

     

    • A minimum education level High School Diploma or its equivalency. Trade school a plus.

    • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.

    • Ability to lift/push/pull or otherwise move 25lbs or more.

    • Strong Customer Service.

     

    Skills and Abilities

     

    • Excellent communication, trouble shooting and organizational skills required.

    • Customer service and public relations skills required.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    Typically indoors but occasional outdoors and roof work.
