    Special Education Teacher | North Highlands, CA | $45–$55/hr | Full-Time | 36-Week Contract

     

    Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide high-quality services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. This role involves planning and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), delivering specialized instruction, and collaborating with general education staff to support inclusive learning environments.

    Position Overview

    Grade Levels: Elementary, Middle, and High School

     

    Start Date: December 1, 2025

     

    End Date: June 2026

    Duration: 36 weeks

    Schedule: Monday–Friday | 37.5 hrs/week

    Modality: In-person

    Work Hours: 37.5 hrs/week

    Caseload:

    + Elementary or K–8 RSP: Max 28 students

    + Elementary Mild/Mod SDC (TAP Program): Max 15 students

    + Middle School RSP: Max 28 students

    + Middle School Mild/Mod SDC TAP Program: Max 18 students

    + High School Mild/Mod SDC TAP Program: Max 18 students

    + Transitional Kindergarten SDC: Max 15 students

     

    Pay Rate: $45–$55/hr

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs).

    + Provide specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and behavioral support.

    + Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers.

    + Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

    + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred).

    + Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations.

    + State Teacher Certification: Standard Elementary, Secondary, and Special Teaching (preferred).

    + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred.

    + Minimum of one year teaching experience (preferred).

    + Current CPR certification (if applicable).

    + TB questionnaire, PPD or chest X-ray (if applicable).

    + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation).

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.

    + Must be at least 18 years of age.
