Clinic RN – Respite Care Cente r
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM (slight flexibility); No holidays or on-call
Pay:
+ Local: $57/hour (RN) or $48/hour (LPN) + time and a half for OT
+ Travelers: Approx. $3,000 weekly gross
Duration: 13 weeks (possibility of extension)
Position Summary
Amergis Healthcare Services is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a contract role at a Respite Care Center (RCC) in Lynn, MA. This unique medical respite program provides care for individuals experiencing homelessness who need a safe environment to recover from acute medical issues while receiving behavioral health, addiction, and case management support.
You will join a dedicated team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities - Administer and document medications, including Suboxone
- Manage medication refills and pre-pour weekly mediplanners
- Perform patient assessments and triage: vital signs, symptom management, education, and nursing interventions
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:10
- Coordinate care: pre-op/post-op instructions, specialist appointments, DME, and VNA services
- Provide wound care and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
- Support patients with substance use disorders using harm reduction principles
- Communicate abnormal test results to providers
- Engage patients in risk reduction counseling and connect them to treatment programs
- Work closely with underserved populations in a respite homeless center (20-bed unit; some patients stay up to 6 months)
- Medication pass occurs three times daily : 8 AM, 12 PM, and 4 PM
Qualifications - Current RN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Experience in case management , psychiatric care , homeless services , or addiction services preferred
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, Khmer, or Russian preferred
- Previous community health or ambulatory experience a plus
- Understanding of substance abuse and mental health issues
- Desire to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
