Special Education Teacher | School-Based | Alamogordo, NM | Full-Time | 25-Week Contract | $52/hr or $2,000+/week Travel Pay

Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking Special Education Teachers to provide quality services to students in grades K–12. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, teachers will plan and implement individualized student programs, provide special instruction, tutorial assistance, and collaborate with general education staff.

Position Overview

+ Location: Alamogordo, NM

+ Start Date: November 17, 2025

+ Duration: 25 weeks

+ Openings: 2 positions available

+ 1x Elementary Resource Teacher

+ 1x Middle School Low Incidence/Life Skills Teacher

+ Schedule: In-person, all school days

+ Hours per Week: 37.5

+ Modality: School-based, in-person

+ Interview Process: In-person interviews preferred (virtual available if needed)

+ Pay Rate: $52/hour or $2,000+ weekly in travel pay

Responsibilities

+ Provide instruction and case management for elementary and middle school students

+ Implement individualized education programs (IEPs)

+ Collaborate with general education staff and classroom support teams

+ Deliver special instruction and tutorial assistance

+ Support behavior management and student success

+ Document student progress in compliance with professional standards

Minimum Requirements

+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)

+ Valid NM Public Education Department License for Special Education Teacher (required)

+ At least one year of teaching experience (preferred)

+ Certifications: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)

+ Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

+ Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements

+ Current CPR certification, if applicable

+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray, if applicable

+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
