    Heavy Equipment Operator – Aggregates

    About the Opportunity

    A leading aggregate company in the Columbia, SC area is looking for skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join their team. This is a great opportunity for operators who have strong production experience and are comfortable working in a fast-paced pit or quarry environment. Long-term growth potential once hired on full-time.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Safely operate heavy equipment such as CAT 980-wheel loaders and/or CAT D9 dozers

    + Load haul trucks, move material, maintain stockpiles, and support daily plant operations

    + Perform basic equipment inspections and report any mechanical issues

    + Follow safety protocols and site procedures at all times

    + Work efficiently within a rotating shift schedule

    + Support general labor duties as needed to keep operations running smoothly

    Requirements

    + 3–5 years of heavy equipment operating experience

    + Experience operating a CAT 980 or CAT D9 dozer (required)

    + Aggregate, quarry, or mining experience preferred

    + Ability to work rotating shifts

    + Strong safety mindset and ability to operate with precision

    + Reliable, hardworking, and able to work in outdoor environments

    Compensation & Details

    + $23–$26 per hour, depending on experience

    + Contract-to-hire with long-term advancement potential
