    As an Accounting Manager, you’ll lead a collaborative finance team responsible for driving accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement across our capital, fixed asset, lease, and warranty accounting functions.

     

    In this role, you’ll balance leadership with active execution, overseeing financial activities that support innovation and strategic investment decisions while personally performing key accounting and analysis responsibilities. You’ll serve as a key partner to Finance, Engineering, and Operations leaders, providing expertise in accounting processes, project review, and governance for capital spending. You’ll also lead, develop, and mentor a team to ensure timely and accurate reporting while maintaining strong internal controls.

     

    This position is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys both managing and performing work—building structure, developing people, and influencing financial decision-making across the organization.

    YOUR IMPACT

    + Lead and perform accounting functions related to fixed assets, capital projects, leases, and warranty accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with corporate policies.

    + Manage and review appropriation requests and capital spending approvals, providing financial insight and ensuring alignment with business and strategic objectives.

    + Supervise and develop a team, while performing key month-end and reporting activities to maintain a deep understanding of account operations.

    + Serve as a key financial partner to Engineering, Operations, and Global Procurement and Supply Chain (GPSC), providing clear insights and guidance on capital projects and process improvements.

    + Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial reporting and reconciliations for property, plant, equipment, and warranty reserves.

    + Coordinate journal entries review and creations, account reconciliations, and reporting deliverables during monthly close.

    + Support financial analysis for strategic initiatives and collaborate closely with Finance leadership.

    + Drive continuous improvement using Oshkosh Continuous Improvement Management System (CIMS) tools and proactive problem-solving.

    + Maintain and enhance internal control procedures, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

    + Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or treasury.

    + One (1) or more years of managerial or supervisory experience.

    + Ability to travel 10%.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Experience leading others in a fast pace work environment.

    + Active CPA or CMA designation strongly preferred; CPA candidates in progress considered

    + Proven knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control requirements

    + Demonstrated ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on accounting and financial work

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    + **Physical Demands:** Frequent Hearing, Talking, Visual, Sitting, Typing; Occasional Standing, Walking/Running, Fine Dexterity, Manual Dexterity; Seldom Driving, Bending/Kneeling, Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion, Lifting/Carrying up to 20lbs., Pushing/Pulling up to 20lbs.

    Pay Range:

    $102,800.00 - $176,800.00

     

    The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
