    Aquarium Displays Supervisor - SeaLife Orlando

    What you'll do:

    + 🐠 Lead and support the team to deliver top-tier daily animal care and impeccable husbandry standards.

    + 📋 Maintain accurate records for animals, systems, dives, health, training, and enrichment.

    + 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Create awesome guest experiences—share animal stories, answer questions, and resolve concerns with enthusiasm.

    + 🎓 Collaborate with the Education team to ensure guests receive fun, factual, mission-aligned information.

    + ⭐ Uphold AZA, Merlin, and Aquarium standards every single day—no exceptions!

    + 🚚 Oversee animal moves, transports, and shipments, ensuring safety and compliance while leading when needed.

    + 🐡 Work with Curator & Sr. Aquarist to manage species inventories, new exhibits, water quality, quarantine, and overall animal wellness.

    + 🔧 Troubleshoot and repair advanced life support systems (ozone, UV, plumbing) while training others to do the same.

    + 🏗️ Support CAPEX projects and help design, build, and refine inspiring exhibits and life support systems.

    + 💬 Communicate vet updates, manage meds & diets, and ensure the team is aligned on animal health plans.

    + 🤿 Partner with the DSO to maintain dive-dependent exhibits and keep all dive gear in tip-top shape.

    + 🌎 Champion conservation initiatives, staff development, scheduling, budgets, and step into leadership roles when Curator or Sr. Aquarist is away.

     

    Qualifications & Experience

    Experience:

    + 🐠 7+ years professional aquarium/zoo experience plus 3+ years leading aquarist teams; budgeting & CAPEX experience a bonus.

    + 🤿 Open Water SCUBA required; Rescue Diver certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.

    + 🌊 Skilled in caring for diverse marine & freshwater species, including nutrition, behavior, recordkeeping, and compatibility.

    + ⚙️ Hands-on expertise with life support systems (filters, UV, skimmers, ozone) and troubleshooting.

    + 💧 Strong water quality knowledge and proficiency with testing equipment for key parameters.

    + 🧪 Experience with necropsies, disease ID, and treatments.

    + 🚑 Knowledgeable in quarantine procedures for both marine and freshwater animals.

    + 💡 Experience in exhibit planning, design, and lighting.

    + 🦈 Public aquarium diving preferred; able to dive with large species, perform maintenance, shows, and assist with collections.

    + 🎓 Bachelor’s in Life Sciences or equivalent aquarium/zoological program or experience.
