    Position Title:

    Video and Event Production Engineer

    Organization:

    Univ Production Svcs and M&C Finance/Ops

    Job Responsibilities:

    RIT has need of a skilled Video and Event Production Engineer to join our University Production Services team. This role combines hands-on event production with technical expertise in audio/video systems and IT-based workflows. You’ll support live and streaming events, maintain cutting-edge AV infrastructure, and mentor student staff in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Serve as Engineer in Charge or support engineer for live and streaming events, overseeing planning, setup, operation, and tear-down.

    + Administer and maintain AV/IT systems, including production storage, streaming platforms, archiving systems, and real-time media transport.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly to ensure seamless event delivery.

    + Supervise and mentor student engineers, assistants, and co-op staff.

    + Collaborate with campus partners and external vendors to design and implement AV solutions.

    + Recommend and implement upgrades to production equipment and workflows.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Education/Experience:

    + Associate’s degree or equivalent experience

    + 3+ years in TV or AV technical event management

    + 3+ years maintaining and supporting AV and production equipment

    + Technical Skills:

    + Knowledge of AV signal processing systems

    + Experience with SMPTE 2110, Dante, AES67

    + Familiarity with networked AV systems and IT infrastructure

    + Strong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

    + Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in ME/EE/CE/IT/Television Production preferred.

    + Experience with real-time captioning, studio lighting, and multi-camera production.

    + Familiarity with Adobe, Avid, and Apple editing environments.

    + Project management experience.
