GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Whitney Young Health & Equinox seeks a metrics-driven, creative Engagement Coordinator to lead our annual giving program with a strong emphasis on digital fundraising and donor engagement. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role assists in the strategy and execution of appeals, digital campaigns, phone-a-thons, and donor stewardship to meet defined revenue goals.
This position will build audience-centric digital journeys, optimize conversion across channels, and continuously iterate based on analytics. This position is ideal for someone who loves blending storytelling, segmentation, and data to turn supporters into recurring donors.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Annual Giving Strategy & Execution
+ Build and manage a 12-month annual giving calendar (spring/fall appeals, GivingTuesday, year-end, monthly giving pushes) aligned to revenue goals.
+ Lead end-to-end appeals (print and digital): concept, copy, creative briefs, segmentation, production, and post-campaign analysis.
+ Grow monthly/recurring giving with dedicated acquisition, upgrade, and retention journeys.
Digital Fundraising & Media
+ Design multi-channel digital campaigns (email, social, web, light paid) with clear key performance indicators for each stage of the funnel (reach, engagement, traffic, conversion, retention).
+ Create segmented email automations (welcome series, lapsed reactivation, post-gift stewardship, upgrade asks).
+ Develop social media fundraising content (impact reels, carousels, testimonials, program highlights) and coordinate paid social boosts where appropriate.
+ Manage landing/donation pages for clarity and conversion: compelling headlines, impact framing, preset gift arrays, minimal friction checkout.
+ Implement light paid digital media as budget allows (Meta, Google Display/YouTube, LinkedIn for major campaigns), including targeting.
+ Launch peer-to-peer microsprints (e.g., birthday fundraisers, ambassador challenges) and equip volunteer fundraisers with toolkits, scripts, and assets.
+ Use tagging, dashboards, and analytics to attribute results accurately across channels.
Community Engagement Presence & Social Amplification
+ Attend and actively participate in community engagement events, health fairs, partnership opportunities, and cultivation activities as a visible ambassador for Whitney Young Health and Equinox.
+ Coordinate pre-, during-, and post-event digital promotion plans:
+ Pre-event: create event pages, teasers, partner cross-promotion, and sign-up Call To Actions.
+ During event: capture content (photos, short-form video, quotes), post real-time updates, stories, and lives when appropriate.
+ Post-event: publish recaps with impact highlights, gratitude posts to partners/sponsors, and clear next-step Call To Actions (donate, volunteer, subscribe).
+ Build event-day social media toolkits (talking points, hashtags, sample posts) for staff, volunteers, and partners to increase reach.
+ Track event-driven digital metrics (email signups, donations, new followers) and integrate contacts collected on-site into nurture journeys.
+ Partner with Marketing, Director of Volunteer and Community Engagement and all departments to align messaging, branding, and campaign timing across channels.
+ Ensure all digital fundraising materials are accessible (ADA-compliant, mobile-friendly, multilingual where appropriate).
+ Develop protocols for rapid-response fundraising in times of crisis or urgent need
Donor Communications & Engagement
+ Craft donor-centered storytelling across channels; maintain a content calendar integrating fundraising, program impact, and stewardship touchpoints.
+ Collaborate with Program staff to source stories, outcomes, and visuals; ensure privacy and consent best practices.
+ Produce donor stewardship series: prompt acknowledgments, impact updates, thank-you videos, and milestone communications to improve retention.
Phone-a-thons & Events
+ Plan and lead phone-a-thons and/or text-thons: recruit/train callers, develop scripts, segment lists, schedule outreach, and track pledges and follow-ups.
+ Support community engagement and cultivation events; build pre-/post-event digital touchpoints that convert attendees into donors and recurring supporters.
Data, CRM, and Reporting
+ Maintain accurate donor records, lists, and campaign tracking in Raiser’s Edge NXT (or similar CRM).
+ Build dashboards for campaign performance and pipeline health (open/click/conversion, average gift, donor retention, etc).
+ Provide monthly and post-campaign reports with insights, tests run, learnings, and next steps.
