Job Summary
CulinArt is seeking a hospitality minded Communications Manager to join their dynamic on campus team (Stony Brook University). This role is critical to managing and supporting the communication strategy for Culinart @ SBU while maintaining assigned projects and programs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Managing and supporting internal communications initiatives such as soliciting, proofing, editing and organization of content & design for associate communications, newsletter, and companywide announcements.
• Support and build ongoing social media content strategy, generating story ideas, planning campaigns, writing, editing, and publishing content for social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
• Conducting ongoing social media and content audits to evaluate effectiveness, receptivity, and recall of current communication methods and takes appropriate action as necessary based on results.
• Managing content distribution and ongoing team project management through a variety of platforms, including (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and Digital Marketing.
• Originate and oversee the creation of marketing and communications collateral to ensure that it is consistent with the organization's brand, including white papers, website copy, and more Supporting external communications initiatives by creating content for clients, outside shareholders, brand awareness opportunities, etc.
• Assisting with the communication and partnership opportunities for a variety of community and program initiatives (corporate support and at the account level). Managing all company and support team award submissions (corporate, Culinary, Nutrition and Wellness, Environments etc.).
Role Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a corporate communications role and environment preferred. Experience managing others (interns or specialists) a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Proficiency with digital food photography and videography a plus.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to build and manage corporate relationships with key influencers, including senior support team and operational leaders.
• Extreme attention to detail. Self-directed and proactive.
• Works well under pressure and adapts well to working with short deadlines and in tight turn-around situations.
• Readily accepts ownership and maintains a positive, supportive attitude with a "team" mentality.
