In this role, there is opportunity to:

+ Collect blood specimens via venipuncture, heelstick, and fingerstick.

+ Instruct patients on self-collection for non-blood specimens.

+ Accurately enter orders and patient data in lab systems.

+ Maintain sample integrity and follow safety protocols.

+ Perform clerical tasks, including specimen labeling and transport.

+ Ensure compliance with infection control and quality standards.

+ Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers.

+ Train new employees or students as assigned.

+ May perform arterial punctures with proper training.

+ Monitor inventory and maintain cost-effective supply use.

Required

+ High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred

+ Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program

+ Minimum 6 months experience performing phlebotomy

+ Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience

+ Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) or equivalent certification preferred.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

+ Phlebotomy Technician (PBT(ASCP)) or equivalent certification preferred.

+ Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

+ Act 33 with renewal

+ Act 34 with renewal

+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
