Job Description
• Assist Controller and other accounting staff with the accounting operations, including the control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity
• Ensure that accounts payable are processed and paid in a timely manner, including review of proper coding and all applicable discounts
• Understand the general process for cash receipts and timely cash application
• Assist circulation accounting with month-end accounting processes
• Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed in a timely manner
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations, analysis and review
• Assist Controller with month and year end closing of GL, A/P, A/R and Inventory systems including proper accruals and adjustments
• Update and maintain the fixed assets system
• Assist with special projects as needed
• Assist Controller with providing information to external auditors for the annual audit

Skills and Requirements
• A Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration is preferred, or equivalent business experience and 1-2 years of progressively responsible accounting experience
• Must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
• Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Must have advanced problem-solving skills
• Must possess proficient computer and analytical skills and have the ability to apply those skills for business development purposes
• Must be trustworthy and have strong integrity and loyalty
• Must be self-motivated and confident
• Must be responsible and have a strong work ethic
• Must possess positivity, energy, and enthusiasm
