Description & Requirements
Bloomberg’s Internal Communications team informs employees about our strategy, products and services, empowering them to accomplish business objectives. These communications also engage employees with the Bloomberg culture, with each other and with those in their networks – all while encouraging a dedication to the company’s philanthropic mission. The result is employees who drive our business forward, while feeling motivated about growing a long-term career within the company.
What’s the role?
We are looking for a strategic, partnership-driven and forward-thinking communicator to develop and execute internal communications in our collaborative, fast-paced and growth-oriented organization.
You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across our Corporate Functions teams – including Human Resources (incl. Talent and Benefits); Operations, Risk & Governance (incl. Legal, Risk and Compliance); Finance & Administration, Facilities, Security Operations and Corporate Travel. You’ll also support our “office committees” across the Americas region (incl. NYC, Princeton, San Francisco, D.C., and São Paulo).
In this role, you’ll craft clear, engaging messaging that resonates with our employee demographics – ensuring communications are timely, relevant, aligned with business objectives, and with a clear call to action.
You’ll work with a variety of leaders across domains and regions – building credibility through reliability, responsiveness, and thoughtful counsel. You’ll also bring strategic foresight to your approach, looking for opportunities to better integrate or streamline the communication flow to employees. You see both the big picture and the operational details needed to bring ideas to life; you’re a proactive problem-solver with a knack for enhancing communication effectiveness; and you’re a dependable executor who follows through with care and consistency.
We'll Trust You To:
+ Manage employee communications: You’ll build trusted relationships with senior leaders, quickly grasping their goals and perspectives to authentically represent their voice and intent. You’ll write, edit, and distribute clear, compelling, and actionable messages across a range of internal channels — helping employees stay informed and connected.
+ Lead policy and operational communications: From new policies to investments in the employee experience, you’ll develop thoughtful communications strategies that are intentional and targeted, and shared with employees in a tone that is clear, relevant, accessible and actionable.
+ Drive program communications and planning: Work closely with stakeholders and program leads to develop and execute communications strategies that support key programs across HR, Talent, and various employee engagement initiatives – ensuring a thoughtful structure and cadence, clear messaging, and reliable execution throughout.
+ Create content: Whether it's writing intranet stories, drafting video scripts, facilitating town halls or developing compelling content for our employee social media channel, you’ll bring creativity to topics that don’t always get the spotlight, but which have an impact on the employee experience. You’ll look for ways to evolve how we share stories, celebrate success and bring our culture to life.
+ Support internal events and engagement programs: You’ll help ideate, plan and promote events that strengthen connections across the firm – from department town halls to local office gatherings to senior leader office visits. You’ll help produce these events, leading the run of show, influencing messaging, and providing hands-on support to ensure seamless execution.
+ Partner with regional leaders: You’ll serve as an advisor to our office hubs across the Americas (including Princeton, San Francisco, D.C., NYC and São Paulo), helping regional leaders promote internal initiatives, amplify global campaigns, and foster a sense of community within their offices. This includes monthly newsletter support with a creative angle, and an opportunity to influence on-the-ground programming engagements.
+ Contribute to team initiatives: As part of a highly collaborative team, you’ll play a key role in contributing to the team’s channel strategy and infrastructure, partner across regions with Internal Comms counterparts, and collaborate with your fellow business-aligned communicators to ensure consistency, quality and alignment across everything we do.
You'll need to have:
+ 5-6 years of relevant experience in employee, internal or corporate communications, ideally within a complex, global, and fast-paced organization.
+ Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and approach to different audiences, topics, and leaders.
+ Strong stakeholder management skills. You establish credibility through responsiveness, a desire to understand the business, a partnership mindset, and thoughtful communications counsel.
+ Experience working directly with senior leaders and partnering across functions to develop and execute communications strategies that reflect business objectives.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities with diligence, focus and drive – balancing the tactical with the strategic.
+ A proactive, consultative mindset in everything you do – whether you are working with stakeholders, senior leaders or peers.
+ Resourcefulness and the ability to simplify complex topics into easily understandable content and digestible formats.
+ Comfort working through ambiguity – helping to move projects forward when information may be limited or priorities may shift.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, English, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
We'd love to see:
+ Prior experience in an internal communications capacity within a highly matrixed and/or regulated environment, such as financial services, technology or pharmaceutical.
