Position Overview:
Henry Ford Health is seeking afull-time (36 hours/week) Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)to join the dedicated neonatology team atHenry Ford St. John Children’s Hospital. This role providesoversight of Level III neonatal carewithin a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Responsibilities include delivering comprehensive neonatal care, performing bedside procedures, and attending deliveries.

Schedule– Full-Time. 36 Hours per week. Rotating Sunday through Saturday. Rotating days, nights, weekends.

Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Performs nursing functions independently. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires Master¿s Degree in Nursing; licensure as a Certified Nurse Practitioner; licensure as a Registered Nurse; BCLS certification; and certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field, National Certification Corporation (NCC), National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates, and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
Qualifications:
• NP – Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
• NP – Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan
Licensure and Certification
• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)
• National certification as an NP
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.
DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.
Experience
• Credentialing: RN State of Michigan, National Board NNP Certification, BLS, NRP and Master of Nursing, required.
• Federal DEA License
