Job Summary
The Domino's Farms Medical Specialty ACU, Dermatology, is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient-focused individual to join our team and provide direct patient care. This may include performing and assisting with clinical procedures, maintaining equipment, and performing laboratory procedures.

Responsibilities*
MA duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
+ Taking vitals, accurately updating medications and other information in the electronic medical record, prepping patient and physicians for procedures, and maintaining clinic flow.
+ Ensuring appropriate infection control protocol is followed.
+ Properly managing equipment to ensure it is well-maintained and ready for use.
+ Problem-solve issues related to the retrieval of medical information.
+ Assist with complex procedures, requiring knowledge of varied equipment. Various tests and procedures. Perform complex specimen collections.
+ Provide routine but complex instructions for patient procedures and treatments as delegated by providers and nurses.
+ Provide care for patients scheduled on MA schedule (e.g. suture removals).
+ Maintain, order, and stock clinical supplies and medications.
+ Provide coverage for prior authorization work when needed.
+ Provide cross coverage to all medical specialty clinics at Domino's Farms.
+ Perform other duties as described.
Required Qualifications*
+ Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients.
Medical Assistant Associate:
+ 1-3 years of relevant experience
Medical Assistant:
+ 0-1 years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications*
+ Prior medical assistant experience in an ambulatory care clinical setting is preferred.
+ Enthusiastic, reliable, hard-working, flexible, detail-oriented, and positive minded individual with demonstrated skills in interpersonal and customer service skills.
+ Ability to take direction from a multiple number of medical clinicians and supervisor and work efficiently in a busy environment.
+ Excellent time management and organizational skills, consistently uses available time effectively.
+ Competency in computer programs, telephone etiquette, and other office procedures.
+ Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
+ Ability to work well within a team setting.
+ Participate in in-service programs for the medical staff.
+ Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
+ Certificate of completion from a Medical Assistant program.
+ Recent ambulatory medical assistant experience (within last 2-3 years).
+ Experience with Dermatology procedures.
+ Experience with MiChart (Epic).
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Skype.
+ Knowledge of Michigan Medicine Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines.

Union Affiliation
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the United Michigan Medicine Allied Professionals (UMMAP), which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours, and other terms and conditions of employment.
