Responsibilities*
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
+ Rooming patients for clinic visits including patient intake.
+ Prep clinic exam and procedure rooms and turn over rooms between patient visits.
+ Restock and maintain clinical supplies and equipment.
+ Specimen procession, bench lab testing and quality control monitoring.
+ Immunization and medication administration.
+ Complex coordination with physicians, nursing, and clerical for safe and quality patient care.
+ Clean, sanitize, and disinfect equipment according to established protocols.
+ Chaperone provider and PT examinations.
Required Qualifications*
+ Completion of a Medical Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Moderate standing/walking, as well as, lifting, positioning, pushing and/or transferring patients.
Associate Level:
+ 1-3 years of experience
+ Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Assistant Level:
+ 0-1 years of experience
+ Some office experience.
Desired Qualifications*
+ Certification as a Medical Assistant desired.
+ Specific skills preference: 1-3 years previous experience in assisting healthcare provider with patient care, preferably in outpatient physician office setting, ambulatory care setting.
+ Experience working in a high-risk OB Clinic; hands on experience with obstetrics and gynecology procedures and IUD's including female exams and Pap smears; knowledge of surgical instruments.
+ Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team setting.
+ Communicates effectively.
+ Demonstrates active listening, written, verbal and information technology skills.
+ Competence in computer usage, telephone etiquette, participate in team and staff meetings, and follow clinic guidelines and protocols.
+ Must have history of excellent attendance and punctuality.
+ Demonstrated abilities to efficiently manage time and prioritize multiple tasks.
