    The Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability is seeking a Program Manager to manage a range of student-focused professional and career development offerings as well as community building activities. The position’s primary focus will be on developing, planning and executing these co-curricular programs. This position will also participate in strategic and long-range planning. The position will report to the Assistant Dean of Experiential Education. The Program Manager will act independently to establish priorities, develop, implement and administer programs. We are looking for a person who is creative, passionate about working closely with students, and is excited to help build co-curricular educational opportunities for sustainability-focused students.

    Your Responsibilities will include:

    + Plan and execute the first year PhD community program.

    + Enhance professional development offerings (primarily for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars) through regular communications about existing programming as well as support the development of career events.

    + Develop partnerships and collaborate with campus partners such as the Career Education Center, VPGE, and CTL to support a wide range of student-focused activities on career development, including job fairs and networking events.

    + Manage the wellness liaison program for graduate students.

    + Liaise with the Office of Sustainability and other units within SDSS in building mechanisms for undergraduate engagement, especially with the Sustainability Community Interns.

    + Oversee the nomination and award program for several annual school-wide awards, ensuring a thorough and fair selection process.

    + Develop and contribute to outreach strategy related to program communications

    + Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities for new programs and initiatives

    To be successful in this position, you will need:

    + Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required for some programs

    + Ability to develop program partnerships and funding sources

    + Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.

    + Ability to oversee and direct staff.

    + Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.

    In addition, our preferred requirements include:

    + Advanced degree in a sustainability-related field

    + Experience in higher education

    + Excellent interpersonal skills

    + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    + Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and assign work to others.

    + Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.

    + Ability to independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

    + Ability to interact and successfully collaborate with a broad spectrum of groups and individuals.

    + Demonstrated success planning events and creating marketing materials (flyers, etc.)

    + Flexibility to support in-person events and activities (including evening and occasional week-end events).

    The expected pay range for this position is $116,966 to $140,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
