RN Informatics Specialist Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303 $34.82 - $52.24 an hour - Full-Time Days 40 hours per week
Boulder Community Health is seeking an RN Informatics Specialist to support imaging, cardiology, and behavioral health service lines. This role integrates nursing science, clinical knowledge, and IT expertise to assess, plan, and evaluate electronic data systems and workflows in the clinical environment. The specialist will serve as a clinical liaison across departments impacted by clinical documentation, data management, and IT, ensuring smooth project coordination. They will also assist in the analysis, design, and education of clinical staff on new applications, while focusing on improving patient safety and clinical workflows. Additionally, this position oversees process re-designs to support application rollouts and provides ongoing support for electronic documentation systems and system integration with other BCH initiatives.

Qualifications •Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred •Certification preferred •Principal Trainer certification in relevant Epic application within 6 months of hire •Current Colorado Registered Nurse License •1-3 years relevant healthcare experience required. •1-3 years healthcare IT experience preferred. •Epic background preferred •Understanding of hospital and ambulatory operations, interdepartmental procedures and interdisciplinary interactions and workflows in the healthcare setting •Experience in computer or data management related field preferred Responsibilities •Lead and participate in projects impacting the clinical space at BCH across multiple applications, systems, and platforms. •Guide Clinical Informatics staff in collaboration with physicians and clinical teams to design, implement, and support the EHR, ensuring it meets clinical needs and supports policy changes. •Direct clinical process decisions to improve patient care, safety, outcomes, and standardization. •Provide ongoing support to clinical staff and contribute to BCH’s strategic and regulatory goals. •Collaborate with application analysts to optimize processes, ensuring system and workflow efficiency. •Conduct clinical reviews to ensure system usability and lead education efforts with EHR educators. •Demonstrate flexibility, initiative, and critical thinking in a fast-paced environment, while staying aligned with BCH’s mission for patient safety and excellent service. •Build relationships, persevere under stress, and manage competing objectives to drive project outcomes. •Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical documentation and data management processes, supporting clinical staff regularly. •Work with the healthcare team to identify areas for process improvement. •Evaluate system effectiveness, identify inefficiencies, and propose solutions. •Assist with focus groups and project planning to support BCH’s strategic goals. •Analyze current processes to identify gaps and propose solutions. •Ensure data integrity and assess the impact of new technologies on workflows. •Collaborate on creating orders and clinical policies, ensuring system designs meet process needs. •Conduct integrated testing of systems to validate functionality and desired outcomes. •Lead project scope formulation, team facilitation, and timeline development. •Document decisions, track issues, and report progress to stakeholders. •Coordinate system testing, collaborate on training materials, and provide on-site support during implementation. •Serve as a change agent, communicate changes to clinical staff, and mentor users. •Assist with implementation tasks, track issues, and ensure successful process adoption.
