Job Description
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE WILL BE OFFERED A SALARY BETWEEN $111,626.00-121,626.00.
The Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) protects and promotes the safety and well-being of children and families through child welfare and juvenile justice services and community supports. ACS manages community-based supports and foster care services, and provides subsidized child care vouchers. ACS child protection staff respond to allegations of child maltreatment. In juvenile justice, ACS oversees detention, placement and programs for youth in the community.
The Office of the First Deputy Commissioner (OFDC) plays a significant role in implementing agency goals and carries out ACS’ mission to foster a collaborative, community-based, integrated approach to child and family safely, permanency and well-being. The First Deputy Commissioner serves as the Commissioner’s senior delegate and represents the Commissioner when necessary. The Office of the First Deputy Commissioner includes the Nicholas Scoppetta Children’s Center (NSCC), Office of Public-Private Partnerships (OPPP), Office of Equity Strategies (OES), Office of Child and Family Health (OCFH), Faith-based Services, Parent Advocacy Council, and the Senior Advisor to the Medicaid Redesigned Unit – Transitional Medicaid Unit (TMU).
The Office of Public-Private Partnerships identifies, secures, and manages private funding, as well as receives and disburses donated goods and services designed to advance the agency’s priorities on improving and reforming child welfare, childcare, prevention services, family and child well-being and juvenile justice services. OFDC is seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Director of Public-Private Partnerships to support the unit with developing and strengthening new and existing partnerships and to strategically leverage federal, state and private dollars to serve New York City’s youth, families and communities. The candidate will report directly to the Executive Director of Office of Public-Private Partnerships (OPPP), which identifies, secures and manages private funding, as well as receives and disburses donated goods and services recommendations designed to advance the agency’s priorities related to improving and reforming child welfare, childcare, prevention services, family and child well-being and juvenile justice services.
The selected candidate will provide assistance with special events (internal and external to the agency) as well as partnerships for strategic program and policy benefits. Specific duties to include but are not limited to:
- Assist with maintaining and developing relationships with potential funders and work as one of ACS’ liaisons with the philanthropic community.
- Assist with the creation and implementation of a comprehensive five-year development plan that aligns with and supports the agency’s overall strategic priorities.
- Support the unit to identify, develop, and strengthen program partnerships with key leaders in business, government, nonprofit and philanthropic sectors.
- Build upon existing systems to maximize the opportunity for receipt of grant funding, including a protocol for reviewing federal, state and private grant opportunity on a weekly basis.
- Set and meet targets for grant funds and in-kind donations received by the agency annually.
- Oversee and improve upon the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system in efforts to ensure strengthened institutional knowledge capture and partner relationships.
- Coordinate fundraising and donor relations among other city agency partners for joint projects funded by private and/or federal grants.
- Work closely with New Yorkers for Children (NYFC), ACS’ non-profit partner to ensure the coordination of development activities and to collaborate on innovative programming to support youth in the child welfare system.
- Assist with the development and writing of grant proposals, reports and correspondence, with input and assistance from program areas.
- Assist with grant reporting requirements, processing of consultant agreements and payment requests, tracking of performance and spending targets.
- Support various inter and intra agency collaboration and community collaboration.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of full-time, satisfactory professional social services or related experience in organizations dealing directly with children and/or adolescents; such as (but not limited to) child welfare agencies, Day-Care, educational institutions, mental health groups, pediatrics, juvenile justice. At least eighteen months of the required experience must be in a supervisor, administrative, managerial or executive capacity.
2. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must have at least eighteen months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, managerial, or executive capacity. A Master's degree in Social Work may be substituted for one year of the required general experience.
