Job Title: Construction Estimator
Job Description
As a Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting architectural and engineering plans to determine the scope of work. You will identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses, and obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors. Collaborating with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on estimates will be a key part of your role. You will perform material take-offs, recommend value engineering solutions to make projects more profitable, and assist in developing project milestone schedules. Understanding and evaluating project risk while assisting with various responsibilities both in the office and in the field are also essential functions of this position.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze and interpret architectural and engineering plans to determine scope of work.
+ Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
+ Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials and scope of work.
+ Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on estimates.
+ Perform material take-offs and recommend value engineering solutions.
+ Assist in the development of project milestone schedules.
+ Understand and evaluate project risk.
+ Assist with various responsibilities both in the office and in the field.
+ Develop subcontractor relationships and enhance owner and designer relationships.
+ Participate in turn-over meetings to ensure comprehensive understanding of project scope.
+ Identify any gaps in the scope of work.
+ Manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in estimating commercial construction projects from $500,000 to $10M.
+ Strong knowledge of estimating techniques and cost control.
+ Ability to read and interpret drawings and utilize estimating software.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
+ 3-5 years of construction estimating experience preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ College degree in construction or engineering is preferred.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
