Position summary:
The Operations and Maintenance Supervisor will supervise daily plant operations and maintenance. Plan and coordinate staffing schedules and budgets. Motivate plant personnel to produce electricity in a safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and economical manner.
Pay Range:$94,800 - $156,250 / Grade 17 (This posting includes the full pay range for this position. Pay is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.)
Reporting Relationship:Operations & Maintenance Manager

Essential Functions:
• Maintain documentation of major operating decisions and equipment malfunctions; request additional assistance or maintenance personnel, as required; develop, write and revise plant operating procedures.
• Train plant operations personnel in safe working practices and prepare employees for certification in operation training program.
• Administer employee safety meetings and audits.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and company policies including but not limited to NERC, OSHA, DEQ, and others.
• Evaluate plant operations by reviewing plant reports, logs, and records. Develop solutions to plant system problems, recommend changes and upgrades of equipment, and develop operating procedures and job duties, including job scopes for contractor work.
• Ensure plants are started up, shut down, and operated following established procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining availability of parts, tools, and materials within budget for assigned area of responsibility.
• Communicate clear priorities and directions to employees. Manage employee performance by setting goals/monitoring performance, providing timely feedback, and administering performance review process for assigned crew personnel. With managers, work to resolve personnel issues in a timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Must be able to work rotating shifts.
• Communicate to employees and represent a positive position regarding the Company, its policies, procedures, and decisions.
• Other job duties as assigned.
What Is Required:
• Associate's Degree Business, Engineering or related fields, or an equivalent combination of both education and experience
• Minimum of 3 years in steam/electric plant operations or maintenance
What Is Desired:
• Working knowledge of power plant systems, plant operations and maintenance, electrical principles, work practices, procedures and materials.
• Knowledge of safety codes, company policies, and operator procedures.
• Knowledge of collective bargaining agreement.
• Ability to provide work direction and training to small groups of employees in a professional and accurate manner, including classroom situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to make decisions, monitor and evaluate work being performed, status of projects, and plant operations.
• Strong interpersonal relation skills.
• Ability to understand, review and revise schematics, drawings and equipment manuals.
• Ability to operate computers, including Distributed Control Information Systems (DCIS).
• Demonstrated management, administrative and supervisory skills.
