Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Procedures & Process Improvement Branch (Code 712), Engineering Technical Division (Code 710), Lifting and Handling Department (Code 700) of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will provide long-range planning necessary to ensure timely accomplishment of required work. You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. You will review the various work products of the branch and assume responsibility for the technical and administrative adequacy as well as timely completion of the work performed by the subordinates. You will evaluate performance of subordinates’ work efforts. You will provide all necessary managerial and administrative duties associated with the operation of the branch. You will prepare recommendations for hiring, promotions, transfers, reassignments, recognitions and disciplinary actions. You will actively support and promote all aspects of Equal Employment Opportunity programs and Affirmative Action Plans as directed by applicable laws and regulations. You will assure proper priority is assigned to nuclear work. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying engineering principles to crane engineering, making sound interpretations of content and directing others to take action on those interpretations, maintaining a vast array of local instructions, creating new local instructions when needed, communicating effectively in writing and orally, maintaining key written instructions for the Department, and preparing and reviewing written technical instructions. Education Additional Information This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
