    This role requires an understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and exceptional organizational and time management skills. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll for employees.

    Responsibilities

    + Accurately process multi-state and Union weekly payrolls.

    + Handle off-cycle payrolls and payroll adjustments as needed.

    + Process payroll for new hires, terminations, and payroll adjustments.

    + Calculate and distribute bonuses, commissions, and other special payments as needed.

    + Track and deduct garnishments, tax levies, and other special payroll deductions as needed.

    + Assist with reconciling payroll prior to transmission and validate reports as needed.

    + Conduct regular account reconciliations for assigned areas to assure accuracy of records.

    + Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner.

    + Elevate more complex issues for resolution.

    Essential Skills

    + 3-5 years of Payroll or Accounting experience.

    + Multi-state payroll experience is required.

    + Experience with Union Payroll is required.

    + Proficiency in payroll processing, general ledger, reconciliation, payroll accounting, and payroll tax.

    + Understanding of payroll practices, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws.

    + Proficiency with payroll software such as Coins, ADP, UKG, or In-House/Non Outsourced processing software.

    + Strong data entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

    + Strong analytical skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Prior experience with processing Union (Collective Bargaining Agreement) payrolls, and Prevailing Wage and Certified payroll reports is a plus.

    + A degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience preferred.

    This position is in-office.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carrollton, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $31.00/hr.
