    MRO Buyer

    Job Description

    The MRO Buyer is responsible for releasing purchase orders to suppliers through the ERP system in a timely manner, ensuring adherence to lead times and monitoring delivery schedules. This role requires close collaboration with master scheduling and planning leadership to maintain current forecasts within the business system, enabling effective planning functions.

    Responsibilities

    + Release purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules via the ERP system.

    + Collaborate with master scheduling and planning leadership on production build plans.

    + Review and manage open purchase orders through ERP exception messages.

    + Communicate and coordinate with the supply base regarding purchase orders and manage discrepant materials.

    + Work with material control to support manufacturing processes, including receiving and internal material movements.

    + Assess inventory to determine actions on excess and obsolete components and develop management plans.

    + Establish production planning parameters in the business system to manage inventory levels effectively.

    + Interact with sales on incoming orders, providing status updates as necessary.

    + Negotiate purchase costs and payment terms with suppliers and manage supplier agreements and contracts.

    + Manage and expedite critical component supply, compiling line of balance reports.

    + Drive and implement new product initiatives, continuous improvement, and cost savings in a cross-functional team.

    + Ensure all tasks are performed safely, efficiently, timely, and accurately according to company policy.

    + Contribute to producing a quality product and comply with all company policies and procedures.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong ERP experience

    + 2+ years purchasing experience

    + Experience in inventory control and management

    + SAP proficiency

    + 3+ years’ experience in material planning and/or purchasing in a manufacturing setting

    + Knowledge in inventory management practices like forecasting and demand management

    + Flexibility in a changing business environment

    + Strong project management skills

    + Experience with continuous improvement processes and quality initiatives

    + Microsoft Office proficiency

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in managing supplier agreements and contracts

    + Ability to manage activities in a hands-on manner

    + Cross-functional skills in understanding manufacturing capabilities and customer expectations

    + Required travel as needed

    This is a Contract position based out of Stoughton, WI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
