The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) technician will be the primary user of the CMM in the QC lab and production area. They will work with the engineer and analyst to create the required pattern checks on parts as necessary to complete the job or analysis. They will need to be familiar with CMM programming and measuring principles. The job will be very hands on, fast paced, and varied from day to day.
As needed, they will be responsible for implementation and monitoring of process control elements in assigned areas. They will work closely with process teams / lines in the analysis and control of operating parameters and in using preventative control methods to avoid scrap, rework, and downtime.

How You'll Create Possibilities
+ Responsible for problem solving any process issues that may arise.
+ Owner of Quality documentation - control plans accurate and up to date, work instructions posted, etc.
+ Being the visual standards expert and making the decision on acceptance/reject.
+ Provide quick response support to process lines for quality/process control problems.
+ Maintain records and support documentation as required by Roper Corporation Quality Operating System.
+ Support special projects required throughout the shop, Kaizen, 3P, 6 Sigma, etc.
+ Provide higher-level support and guidance to operators, materials, engineering, etc as required.
+ Perform dimensional studies as needed to determine root cause.
+ Proficiency in CMM programming, EX. Camio, Polyworks.
+ Lead and advise design engineering in development of programing measurement areas for PPAP and print call outs.
+ Measuring and prepare PPAPs, assuring conformity to approved design data of all parts, and assemblies for all parts needed.
+ Able to handle complex tasks, work independently with strong time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple assignments and interact with cross-functional project teams.
+ Coordinate and participate in trials and special projects as required to support processes.
+ Perform as back up and support for other areas.
+ Enter Deviations and CAPA’s in Agile system and coordinate with BTL, PQL, Engineering.
+ Support design engineers by using statistical analysis tools on project related assignments.
+ Mentor for team reps to help identify and solve issues affecting quality.
+ Teach print reading and gage measurement classes as required.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
EDUCATION:
Required:
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Work Keys and Mechanical Amplitude
Preferred:
Associate degree in Business or Quality related field
Analyst or related experience
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Require minimal direct supervision
Demonstrated good leadership skills
Demonstrated good written and oral communication skills
High level ownership for resolution of quality and productivity problems
Detailed experience in conducting, preparing, and reviewing PPAP reports
Training and working knowledge of GD&T.
Training and working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machine.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferably employee should have practical knowledge of manufacturing processes of at least two years.
EQUIPMENT/JOB TOOLS:
Knowledge of all working quality tools used at Roper Corporation. For example: CMM, Micrometers, Calipers, Protractor, Offsets, Height Gage, etc.
