    Material Handler - Mid Shift

     

    SP Industries Inc.is expanding our team in Pocomoke City, MD and have an immediate opening for a Material Handler. In this role, the right candidate will ensure the proper types of raw materials used in the manufacture of plastic products are available on time, in the correct location, and in sufficient quantities.

     

    This is a Monday - Thursday 10 hours swing shift position with hours from 12pm - 10:30pm.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    + Maintains inventory levels, locates appropriate materials, distributes materials to proper locations, tracks material locations, and assists with the material ordering process.

    + Supply production lines, stock materials, set aside sales, count and verify sales.

    + Maintain workplace cleanliness and work in other areas as required.

    + Performs clean up and special projects as needed.

    + Regularly operates forklifts and other associated material handling equipment and machinery

    QUALIFICATIONS &EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    + High school diploma or general education degree (GED) are preferred.

    + Familiarity with the plastic molding process and materials with previous experience in a similar, warehousing position.

    + Basic computer literacy is preferred.

    + Forklift operating experience is preferred.

    + One to three months related experience in a warehouse work setting is preferred, but not necessary.

    + Must demonstrate a solid work history and attendance record.

    All employees have the responsibility to work in a safe manner and report any health, safety or environmental concern to their manager or supervisor in a timely manner.

    Employee responsibilities for Health, Safety and Environment include:

    + Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures

    + Refrain from removing or altering safety devices or guarding unless hazardous energies are controlled through lockout-tagout methods

    + Report any unsafe conditions or unsafe acts

    + Report defect in any equipment or protective device

    + Ensure that the required protective equipment is used for the assigned tasks

    + Attend all required health, safety and environmental training

    + Report any accidents/incidents to supervisor

    + Assist in investigating accidents/incidents

    + Refrain from engaging in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct
