    Job Title: Tool and Parts Attendant – NAMCE

    Purpose and Scope:

    Responsible for inspecting, issue, training personnel, and performing tool room on customer provided tools, IMRL, ground support equipment, contract units, sub-systems, and support equipment.

    Essential Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment, such as measuring devices, in an industrial establishment. The Tools and Parts Attendant does the following keeps records of tools issued to and returned by workers, searches for lost or misplaced tools, prepares periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed, unpacks and stores new equipment; visually inspects tools or measures with micrometer for wear or defects and reports damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors; coats tools with grease or other preservative, using a brush or spray gun, and attaches identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.

    Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

    + High school graduate or equivalent is desirable. Five (5) years actual and recent, systems experience desired.

    + Must have a knowledge of general hand tools.

    + Knowledge of ground support equipment desired.

    + Must be able to obtain and maintain Government security clearance.

    + Must read, write, speak, and understand English.

    Additional Job Description Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

    Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lifts items weighing 40-45 pounds and occasionally in excess of 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud or unsafe conditions, questioning nonstandard operations or environmental factors that may involve unmitigated hazards, and providing feedback to supervisors and managers on all safety issues. Support Customer and Contract for all related tasks associated with this position. Enforce company policy and procedures as they apply to ensuring a safe and high-level customer service work environment always exists, reporting to the Program Supervisor as required. Report incidents and make recommendations to the Program Supervisor. Full flexibility regarding working hours This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive and employee will also perform other tasks as assigned. Must be able to work well with others and independently, predicated on the scope and complexity of operations. Tools are the responsibility of the employee.

     

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tier 3 US Government Clearance.

     

    Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Tier 3 Clearance.

    Salary and Other Compensation:

    The hourly rate for this position is $27.16 per hour. Plus $8.10 per hour, up to 40 hours per week, for Health & Welfare.
