The Electrified Propulsion Engineering (EPE) organization is responsible for delivering the best fuel economy and refined Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid and Electric vehicles in every segment in which we contend. We strive to consistently provide the best customer vehicle value and profitability while delivering performance, durability, and fuel economy/range objectives. What you'll do...

+ Responsible for cooling design of electric motors for Electric Vehicle applications

+ Create thermal models for electric motors based on operating conditions and cooling method

+ Perform thermal analysis and design optimization

+ Work with electrical design engineer to finalize electro-magnetic design

+ Work with CAD designers to develop prints for all mechanical parts

+ Work with transmission design team to define cooling method and cooling demand for electric motors.

+ Develop cooling system for electric motor test housing for dyno tests.

+ Build, test and evaluate electric motor prototypes

You'll have...

+ B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

+ 2+ years of experience in electric motor cooling design and thermal analysis.

+ 2+ years of experience with FEA package for thermal analysis.

Even better, you may have...

+ M.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

+ 5+ years of experience in electric motor cooling design and thermal analysis.

+ Powertrain D&R experience with mechanical design background.

+ Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up and statistics.

+ 5+ years of experience with FEA package for thermal analysis.

+ Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks

+ Excellent communication skills
