    Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    + Provide telephone triage services for the Georgia Newborn Screening Follow-Up Program at Emory.

    + Report abnormal dried blood spot screening results to the appropriate health care providers and make the necessary follow-up recommendations.

    + Following the completion of on-site training that covers the specifics of each disease on the screening panel and the follow-up protocols, the employee must have the ability to interpret individual test results, incorporate other pertinent information and make appropriate recommendations.

    + May require knowledge of caring for critically ill infants.

    + Ability to contact health care providers and families by telephone or email.

    + Serve as a resource for colleagues, assist with decision making and strategies for problem solving in day to day tasks.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, licensed as an RN by the state of Georgia and two years of clinical experience

    + OR Graduation from an accredited LPN program, licensed as an LPN by the State of Georgia and six years of clinical experience

    + OR Bachelor's degree in related field, Certified Genetic Counselor (CGC) by ABGC and two years of related experience. Basic computer skills.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Pediatric or neonatal care.

     

    NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed. All biweekly employees must reside within the State of Georgia. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
