    We are seeking a skilled and dedicated **Surgical Technologist** to join our operative care team. Also known as 'scrub techs,' Surgical Technologists play an essential role in ensuring patient safety and supporting surgeons and registered nurses throughout every phase of a procedure.     A caregiver in this position works FT, from 7:00am-3:30pm. No weekends or holidays.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Perform scrub functions and assist in circulating functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN).

    + Set up the sterile table and ensure appropriate supplies, drugs and equipment are available.

    + Assists RN in counting all sponges, instruments, etc. at appropriate times during surgery.

    + Assist in gowning and gloving surgical team members and draping patients.

    + Ensure aseptic condition is maintained by the scrubbed surgical team through the procedure.

    + Participate in the intraoperative 'timeout.'

    + Collect, identify and label specimens removed during surgical procedures and gives specimens to circulator for disposition.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program, accredited through Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) or Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES)

    + OR Completion of military surgical technology program will meet the educational requirements of an accredited Surgical Technology Program

    + Certification of either CST or TS-C required for candidates who have not completed an accredited Surgical Technology program:

    + Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).

    + Certified Tech in Surgery, (TS-C) through the National Center for Competency Training (NCCT).

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

    Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + One year of Surg Tech experience

    + Hospital experience

    Physical Requirements:

    + Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

    + Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.

    + Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing > than 75 pounds periodically.

    + Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

    + Requires working under stressful conditions of working irregular hours.

    + Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.

    + Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

    + Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work

    Personal Protective Equipment:

    + Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

     

    Pay Range

     

    Minimum hourly: $25.25

     

    Maximum hourly: $34.15

     

    The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education.
