    The Idaho Department of Labor has openings for two full-time UI Claims Adjudicator positions for the Benefit Discovery team. The UI Claims Adjudicator is instrumental in identifying, investigating, and prosecuting fraudulent activity. The ideal candidates will have an analytical approach to problem solving, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and on a team.

    Example of Duties:

    + Conduct in-depth fact-finding interviews with claimants, employers and other interested parties.

    + Record personal and eligibility information.

    + Analyze documents, evidence and statements provided by interested parties.

    + Determine eligibility for programs, services or benefits by applying laws, regulations, policies and precedents.

    + Issue written eligibility determinations.

    + Authorize continued payment of UI benefits.

    + Prepare for and participate in administrative or legal hearings and provide testimony as an expert witness.

     

    Minimum Qualifications- You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Please make sure your resume and/or work history to your application.     Good knowledge of:

    + I daho and Federal statutes, regulations and policies pertaining to Unemployment Insurance benefits. Typically gained by at least three months experience understanding and applying statutes, regulations and policies related to Unemployment Insurance benefits.

    Experience:

    + Assisting emotional, difficult or confrontational individuals from varying socio/economic/cultural backgrounds . Typically gained by at least one year of work experience assisting emotional, difficult or confrontational people.

    + Conducting in-depth fact-finding interviews and documenting findings. Typically gained by with one to two years of work experience interviewing others and documenting findings.

    + Interpreting and applying regulations or policies and explaining them to others. Typically gained by one to two years of work experience interpreting and applying regulations or policies and explaining them to others.

    + Determining eligibility for programs and preparing written eligibility decisions. Typically gained by one to two years of work experience determining eligibility or qualifications for programs and services, and written decisions.

    + Preparing written communication. Typically gained by one to two years of work experience preparing formal written communications, including creation of letters, memos and other correspondence.

    + Performing data input and retrieval within Unemployment Insurance computer programs. Typically gained by three to six months of experience performing data input and retrieval within UI computer programs.
