Job Title: Field Service Technician

Job Description

The Field Service Technician will travel globally to customer facilities to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade specialized industrial machinery used in wood fastening. This role involves hands-on technical work, customer training, and ongoing support, with a focus on mechanical and electrical systems.

Responsibilities

+ Set up and configure new machinery at client sites.

+ Conduct operational and safety training for customer personnel.

+ Diagnose and resolve issues involving mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

+ Perform routine and emergency maintenance.

+ Document service activities and any equipment modifications.

+ Provide remote assistance using phone, video, and digital tools.

+ Occasionally assist with equipment relocation and upgrades.

Essential Skills

+ Strong electrical and mechanical experience.

+ 3+ years in field service/maintenance.

+ Ability to obtain a passport and travel domestically and internationally.

+ **Willingness to travel internationally and domestically 75%.**

+ Experience with equipment installation, maintenance, and customer service.

+ Ability to interpret technical blueprints and schematics.

+ Understanding of AC/DC systems, electrical wiring, and 24V DC controls.

+ Familiarity with proximity and relay switches, blueprints, and schematics.

+ Hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and wrenching.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Hydraulics and pneumatics experience (preferred, but training available).

Work Environment

Technicians will travel across the USA and internationally to locations such as Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and South America. Work environments include wood pallet production sites and sawmills, which may be hot, cold, or dirty. The standard shift is Monday through Friday, from 7 AM to 4/5 PM, without overnight work. Technicians will work alongside a team of four other techs. Expect to work 50 hours per week, with 40 hours during training and 50-60 hours once in the field.

This is a Permanent position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $93600.00/yr.
