Job Title: Press Machine Operator
Job Description
As a Press Machine Operator, you will progress through various roles, learning to assist in color and register corrections, making press adjustments, and operating the press independently. You will follow job specifications for press setup and make necessary adjustments to machine parts, including feeders, delivery systems, suction grippers, and guides. Maintenance duties include replacing worn rollers, adjusting roller pressure, washing blankets, and cleaning ink rollers and fountains. Additionally, you will assist with press maintenance, support temporary staff, reinforce SQF standards and company values, maintain cleanliness, and adhere to a painting schedule.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with color/register corrections and press adjustments.
+ Operate the press in the absence of the main operator.
+ Read and follow job specifications for press setup.
+ Adjust press machine parts such as feeders, delivery systems, suction grippers, and guides.
+ Replace worn rollers and adjust roller pressure.
+ Wash blankets and clean ink rollers and fountains.
+ Assist with press maintenance.
+ Support temporary staff and reinforce SQF standards and company values.
+ Maintain cleanliness and adhere to a painting schedule.
Essential Skills
+ Excellent attendance and independence.
+ Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
+ Manufacturing experience and relevant experience with Heidelberg presses.
+ Ability to read and write safety rules, manuals, and reports.
+ Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
+ Mathematical skills for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratio computation, and interpreting bar graphs.
+ Problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret varied instructions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Physical ability to stand or walk frequently (34-66% of the time).
+ Comfort with repetitive movements, bending, squatting, climbing, reaching, twisting, and carrying (up to 28 lbs.).
+ Capability to push/pull (50 lbs. for 200 ft.) and lift 50 lbs. frequently.
+ Proficient use of both feet and hands.
+ Continuous reading, writing, hearing, seeing, and speaking capabilities.
+ Independent decision-making and color discernment.
+ Adaptability to work in fluctuating temperatures and loud noise environments.
+ Personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, including safety gloves, hair net, and beard net.

Work Environment
The facility is not climate-controlled and operates 24/7, employing around 170 employees and 30 temporary staff. Openings are available across both shifts, 7 am-7 pm and 7 pm-7 am, with a rotating schedule of three days on, two days off, followed by two days on, three days off. Safety is prioritized, with steel toe boots required, and the company provides gloves, ear plugs, and safety glasses.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $54080.00/yr.
