Aerotek is hiring a Lead Press Operator

1st and 2nd shift

Responsibilities

+ Supervise and train press operators, assign tasks, and provide guidance on best practices for machine operation, safety, and quality control.

+ Perform routine maintenance on machinery, troubleshoot mechanical or technical issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.

+ Maintain accurate production records and communicate any issues or concerns to leadership or the maintenance team.

+ Perform meticulous quality checks on finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as gauges, calipers, and micrometers.

+ Monitor press operations to detect irregularities or malfunctions, and perform minor adjustments and preventative maintenance.

+ Assist the maintenance team with complex repairs to keep machines running smoothly.

+ Adjust pressure settings to manufacturer specifications for specific materials/jobs.

+ Implement regular inspection and replacement schedules for worn components and ensure proper tool material is used for the application.

+ Maintain hydraulic systems by checking fluid levels and condition, repairing leaks, replacing worn seals, cleaning filters, and bleeding air from the system.

Essential Skills

+ 4+ years of experience in operating heavy machinery or maintenance with press equipment such as stamping, hydraulic, or punch presses.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and diagrams.

+ Knowledge of machine calibration and adjustment procedures.

+ Experience with schematic troubleshooting, machine setup, and mechanical troubleshooting.

+ Familiarity with HMI, punch press, hand tools, and inspection processes.

+ Experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly with GMP standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Consideration for candidates from technical schools with strong troubleshooting abilities.

+ Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as standing for an entire shift and lifting materials up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

You will work in a brand new, large, and clean manufacturing facility in the stamping department. The press machines are fully enclosed and house highly automated press equipment. The role involves collaborating with the engineering team to test dies, run product trials, and modify dies as required for quality specifications. Facility-approved leather shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and high visibility vests are required. Acceptable attire includes jeans or work pants without holes, long-sleeved shirts, and Kevlar cut-resistant sleeves provided for the press area. Overtime is possible but not guaranteed. Day shift is Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, and night shift is Monday to Friday from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am, with night shift training on days until 1/5/2026.

This is a Contract position based out of Stanton, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
