Description
The Sales Coordinator at Wheeler Machinery will oversee the operations of a Caterpillar Compact Retail store located within one of our branch locations. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional, customer-focused retail sales experience from start to finish. The Sales Coordinator will guide customers through the entire sales process, ensuring a seamless and positive interaction. Additionally, they will play a key role in expanding Wheeler Machinery’s market share among smaller contractors and homeowners by driving sales of Building Construction Products (BCP).
Primary job duties and responsibilities include the following:
Manage Retail Operations
+ Oversee daily operations of the Caterpillar Compact Retail store within a branch location, ensuring a clean, organized, safe, and customer-friendly environment.
Deliver Exceptional Customer Experience
+ Provide a professional, welcoming, and solution-oriented experience for all customers, guiding them through the entire sales process from initial inquiry to final purchase.
Sales Process Management
+ Handle all aspects of retail sales transactions, including quoting, financing coordination, and closing deals.
Product Knowledge & Consultation
+ Maintain in-depth knowledge of Caterpillar Building Construction Products (BCP) and related attachments to effectively advise customers on the best solutions for their needs.
Market Growth
+ Drive sales growth among smaller contractors and homeowners by actively promoting BCP products and identifying new business opportunities.
Inventory Oversight
+ Monitor and manage inventory levels for compact equipment and attachments, ensuring availability and accuracy.
Customer Relationship Building
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Marketing & Promotions
+ Support branch-level marketing initiatives, including in-store promotions, events, and digital campaigns to increase visibility and sales.
Collaboration
+ Work closely with branch management, sales teams, and service departments to ensure seamless customer support and operational efficiency.
Reporting & Analysis
+ Track sales performance, prepare reports, and provide insights to management on trends and opportunities through the CRM.
CRM Lead Management
+ Assist reviewing and qualifying leads from all sources and updating them in the CRM system.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree (preferably in sales or business-related fields) or minimum 2 years of industry related experience
+ Retail sales experience (preferable)
+ Knowledge of and willingness to learn Caterpillar product line, construction industry practices and other competencies necessary for consulting with customers on their needs
+ Strong presentation, organizational and time management skills
+ Initiative-taker, motivated and results driven
+ Dedication to providing the highest level of customer service
+ Ability to manage and resolve objections and problems amicably
+ General computing skills including Word, Excel, Outlook as well as the ability to utilize a CRM for managing customer visits, generating quotes and processing data
+ Experience in successfully mentoring and leading others toward accomplishing a common goal
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills
