Job Title: Junior Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Accounting team. This role is responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience working with large ERP systems.

Responsibilities

+ Review, verify, and process vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

+ Prepare and reconcile payments, ensuring proper documentation and approvals.

+ Maintain vendor records, set up new vendors, and ensure compliance with internal controls.

+ Apply correct GL codes and ensure proper understanding of debits and credits.

+ Generate and analyze AP reports to support month-end close and audits.

+ Assist with payroll-related tasks as needed.

+ Work within large ERP systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, Peachtree, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle NetSuite, or SAP.

Essential Skills

+ 1-3 years of Accounts Payable experience or 0-1 years with an Accounting degree (Associate or Bachelors).

+ Intermediate MS Excel proficiency.

+ Experience with travel and expense processing through systems such as Concur.

+ Strong skills in accounting, invoicing, data entry, invoice processing, and purchase orders.

+ Proficiency in vendor management and reconciliation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with large ERP systems such as Sage, QuickBooks, Peachtree, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle NetSuite, or SAP.

+ Advanced skills in Excel, including data analysis and reporting.

Work Environment

The position requires working in-office while on contract, transitioning to a schedule of four days in-office and one day remote once converted. The team consists of two members, a Junior and a Senior , who report to the Accounting Manager.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX 78248.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.23 - $24.04/hr.
