THE POSITION
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement’s Pipeline Safety Division as a Civil Engineer General (CEG). This role is based in theSoutheastern Pennsylvania regionand offers a rewarding career path with opportunities for advancement.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The Civil Engineer General serves within the engineering staff of the Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement, performing a range of pipeline safety engineering assignments. These tasks require the interpretation and application of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and guidelines, along with sound engineering judgment to assess regulatory compliance.
Please be advised, this position requires residency within one of the following Southeastern Pennsylvania counties, or the selected candidate must relocate within six months of employment: Bucks, Delaware, Chester, Philadelphia, or Montgomery .
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ This position requires moderate travel (including overnight). A state vehicle and all personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided.
+ Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Successful completion of the Civil Engineer Trainee training program (commonwealth title);or
+ One year of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline;or
+ Four years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an engineer-in-training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists, and an associate’s degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related engineering discipline;or
+ Five years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty, and an Engineer-in-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Special Requirement:
+ This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.

+ You must reside in or be willing to relocate toBerks, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Lancaster, Montgomery, or Philadelphiacounty within 6 months.
+ Enrollment and completion of designated PHMSA Training and Qualifications (T&Q) courses in Oklahoma City, OK will be required upon hire.
