    ### Job Duties

    Hours: 40 hours/week, Mon.-Fri. 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

    Move cows into winter confinement in December and into calving paddocks in March.

     

    Monitor cattle daily for illness, injury, or signs of calving; provide basic medical care and report concerns.

     

    Assist with calving, including pulling calves, caring for newborns, and trailering animals to the veterinarian when needed.

     

    Ensure cattle always have clean, fresh water—check water tanks and haul water using a pickup truck as required.

     

    Administer medications and vaccinations; assist with branding and vaccinating in May.

     

    Herd and move cattle between confinement, paddocks, and pastures.

     

    Help clean, maintain, and repair corrals and related livestock facilities.

     

    Transport livestock, feed, water, or equipment using farm vehicles.

     

    Perform assigned general farm duties as needed.

    No High School Diploma or GED required

     

    ### Minimum Experience Required

    Experience: Minimum 1 month of farm experience required

     

    Valid Class D driver's license

     

    Must be able to lift 50 lbs

     

    Able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures

     

    Job involves extensive pushing/pulling and extensive sitting or walking

     

    Ongoing random/post-incident drug testing (employer-paid); failure results in immediate termination

    $17.65 - $19.33 / Hourly

    ### Additional Compensation

    Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion., Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.

     

    As required for all workers in Minnesota, hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at the rate of 1.5 times the regular rate of pay.

    EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts. Required work-related tools and supplies provided free of charge by employer.

     

    Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year.
