Job Summary
The Division of Public Safety and Security (DPSS) has established the position of Director of Policy and Professional Standards to strengthen organizational integrity, consistency, and accountability across the division. Reporting to the Executive Senior Director and Chief of Staff, this position leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies and professional standards that guide DPSS operations. The Director also supervises program managers responsible for professional standards and policies.
The Director provides strategic leadership in shaping and enforcing standards that ensure transparency, fairness, and alignment with university values and best practices in public safety. The role is a member of the DPSS Director's Forum and may have responsibilities outside of normal business hours.

Responsibilities*
+ Lead the development, review, and revision of DPSS policies and procedures, ensuring consistency, clarity, and alignment with legal mandates and university expectations.
+ Direct the professional standards review process for all staff, ensuring fairness, transparency, and adherence to established protocols.
+ Administerthe policy development and implementation process, ensuring DPSS operations reflect current standards and best practices.
+ Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare reports on policy outcomes and professional conduct trends to inform leadership decisions.
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure policies and standards are communicated, understood, and applied consistently.
+ Support the disciplinary and administrative review process to ensure integrity, impartiality, and due process.
+ Promote organizational integrity and accountability through training, communication, and the development of standardized processes.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
+ Seven years of relevant experience in policy administration, conducting internal reviews or professional standards within a law enforcement, higher education, or corporateorganization.
+ Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field.
+ Prior experience communicating with diverse audiences at a leadership level.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead effectively within a decentralized and collaborative organization.
+ Strong planning, organization, and project management skills, with the ability to develop and execute comprehensive plans of action.
+ Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
+ Commitment to precision, integrity, and high-quality results.
+ Experience handling sensitive, confidential or criminal justice information.
+ You must pass a comprehensive public safety background investigation and drug screening.
