This work is underpinned by effective contract lifecycle management, and we are seeking a Contracts Consultant to support the preparation, execution and ongoing management of new and existing contracts with Caterpillar’s strategic mining accounts.

    What You’ll Do

    + Assist in the creation of relationship and supply contracts.

    + Review contracts for compliance with established risk profiles.

    + Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support tender responses.

    + Identify and interpret existing contractual rights and obligations.

    + Recommend process improvements for improved contract lifecycle management efficiency and outcomes.

    Education Requirement:

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

    Negotiating:

    + Understands and practises basic negotiations concepts.

    + Discerns qualities of effective and ineffective negotiations.

    + Utilizes techniques for establishing rapport and building trust.

    Relationship Management:

    + Provides prompt and effective responses to client requests and interactions.

    + Monitors client satisfaction levels and alerts team to any problems.

    + Differentiates the roles and responsibilities in a business relationship.

    + Works with clients to address critical issues and resolve major problems.

    Account Management:

    + Understands the concepts of account management.

    + Supports account management team to implement account strategy.

    + Reviews industry journals and company reports to remain current on industry-wide and customer-specific thematics and strategic imperatives.

    Value Selling:

    + Presents product, technology or service costs and benefits in response to customer requests.

    + Understands general concepts, practices and benefits of value-based versus product selling.

    + Pursues additional 'value selling' education or training to enhance traditional sales practices.

    Top Candidates Will Also Have:

    + Confidence in using AI tools (such as Copilot) to bridge knowledge gaps.

    + Prior experience in negotiating or drafting contracts, which will be highly regarded.

    + Primary location: Tucson, AZ or Peoria, IL

    + Travel: Up to 25%

    Summary Pay Range:

    $110,520.00 - $165,840.00

     

    Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
