    We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Engineer for the Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting Application with 10+ years of solid technology experience with demonstrated technical leadership capability. Vehicle Invoicing and Drafting is a Mainframe/COBOL Legacy application; approximately 60+ years old with both Online and Batch Programs.

     

    The most successful candidate will also have some exposure to SAP/S4 Hana (or similar advanced technologies); with a keen ability to bridge SAP SD/Sales & Distribution (or similar advanced technologies) with complex legacy interfaces in a fast-paced environment, using Agile Methodology.

     

    **What you’ll be able to do** :

    + Assist with Enhancement/New Development Projects (including research, analysis, functional/technical specifications, formal testing, and deployment) and Operations Support (triage and resolution).

    + Easily assimilate into the existing Global Team and will help to shape the future technical direction of the Application.

    + Maintain accurate systems related documentation and adhere to coding standards in accordance with Ford Guidelines/Controls

    + Effectively engage in technical discussions within the Application Team and with other interfacing Applications.

    + Strong ability to navigate new, complex, and challenging technical situations (including SAP/S4 or similar Technology) with creative solutions

    + Ability to bridge Legacy Mainframe Systems with new and leading-edge technology (SAP/S4 or similar Technology)

    + Superior ability to quickly build relationships with people, including Software Engineers and Product Owners

     

    Demonstrated ability to develop technical solutions, lead, and guide small teams through complex technical situations (Solid Technical Leadership abilities)

     

    **The minimum requirements we seek** :

    + Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related field

    + 10 years or more of experience in the following areas:

    + COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, IMS (Strong IMS - Online and Batch), IBM, Utilities (file manager, IEB GENER), ENDEVOR, Jira Toolset and Ford Service Now

    **Our preferred requirements** :

    + 1+ Years working at Ford Motor Company (or similar OEM) in Information Technology, is preferred.

    + Experience with or exposure to the Agile Methodology or PDO Framework

    + Strong ability to drive requirements gathering sessions with Business Partners.

    + Superior technical competency with great initiative and strong technical leadership capability

    + Strong can-do attitude with a natural ability to understand a complex Application and interconnections with upstream and downstream Applications.

    + Experience leading

    + Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and adapt to new and advancing technologies

    + Logical/Critical Thinker

    + Empowered, Independent, Problem Solver, Highly Analytical, Responsible and Friendly

    + Team Player with an ability to share and train other team members

    + Highly capable in the midst of ambiguity

    + Exceptional communication Skills (Both verbal and written)

    + Experienced in facilitating requirements definition discussions with Product Owners

    + Process and Detail Oriented (with a keen understanding of the importance of security and controls)

    + Creative (Out of the Box) Thinker

    + Experience with Jira/Rally (or similar tool) and Agile Methodology

    + Previous automotive industry experience and an understanding of the vehicle life cycle is highly desired.

    + Superior documentation Skills

    This position is a salary grade 8.
