Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative maintenance, mechanical repairs, equipment inspection, testing, and general building maintenance within a high-paced dairy manufacturing environment. This role supports plant performance in the areas of **Safety, Quality, and Reliability** while embodying Kroger’s core values and High Performance Work System principles.
Shift: 3pm to 11:30pm Monday to Friday
Pay: 30/hr - Weekly pay!

Responsibilities
+ Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, building structures, piping, and electrical systems
+ Use machine tools (lathe, grinder, drill press, milling machine) to repair/fabricate parts
+ Troubleshoot and repair production/facility equipment to maximize efficiency
+ Complete assigned work orders and respond to emergency/unplanned tasks
+ Maintain a clean and organized maintenance work area
+ Utilize maintenance systems for daily/weekly/monthly tasks
+ Safely operate material handling equipment
+ Accurately document work orders and maintenance activities
+ Support predictive and preventative maintenance programs
+ Contribute to plant initiatives to minimize downtime and ensure optimal production
+ Follow all safety, food safety, and regulatory requirements
+ Perform duties safely and accurately in a fast-paced environment
+ Work around ingredients and finished products containing food allergens
+ Meet essential job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
+ 2+ years of maintenance mechanic/technician experience **or** relevant technical training/certification
+ Strong mechanical knowledge; skills in at least one area: electrical, welding/fabrication, utilities, basic PLCs
+ Must be 18+ years old
+ Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and urgency
+ Reliable, self-directed, and able to work with minimal supervision
+ Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational abilities
+ Ability to meet deadlines and work in fast-paced environments
+ Effective oral and written communication skills
+ Basic computer skills
+ Positive team attitude and dependable work ethic
Preferred
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Experience in food manufacturing and understanding of GMPs
